Today is Christmas, 2023. My reading goal for the year was 20 books. Thus far I have read 26. I finished one last night - I Am Legend, by Richard Matheson. While the book is about the last man on earth living on a planet of vampires, it is, in fact, science fiction, as it explains the vampires with science. Post-apocalyptic SF. That’s how I would classify it. Really good book. Short, concise, well written, impactful.

Right now it is 8pm, and I’m about to start book 27 for the year. The Planet of Null-A, by A.E. van Vogt. I had started reading a book of short stories by Alan Dean Foster, and in his forward he mentioned this book, so I downloaded it. I’ll get back to the short stories. Given that I still have 6 days left in the month, I’ll probably finish it. 27 books in a year is probably the most I’ve ever read. We’ll see how it goes.
